Sorry.....
I am so sorry to all of you that follow my blog. I can't believe it really has been a month since I posted anything. Actually, it isn't THAT hard to believe...life around here has been BUSY, but the craziness brings me such joy! I love being a mom and the kids are at such a fun age right now!!
I think the last time I did a serious update to my blog Rusty had just brought Dakota to California. He adjusted to life in California perfectly. You would never ever know that he hasn't been with us since birth. Finally, Jordyn has a buddy at home and she seems to not be getting into as much with him around. Dakota and Jordyn were in the same Kindergarten class and have been the best of buds. God knew EXACTLY what I needed....lol.
April 2010: My mom started a tradition with Devyn. It is that while in Kindergarten she will treat you to Disneyland. So...it was Jordyns school year to get to go. Since we went as a family in October mom decided to wait to take Jordyn until the spring. Well.....Spring came and we had Dakota too, so in all fairness mom took him along. They had the greatest time EVER!! It was Dakotas first time there and it was fun to watch him take it all in.
May 2010: May was full of End of School activities. Devyn got to go on a chartered bus to the Monterey bay aquarium. Jordyn and Dakota got to take a trip to the zoo. Jordyn was also give a speaking part in her end of year play...she ended up being the top reader in her class!!! I am so proud of her and she has come a LONG way!May is Dads birthday and we took him to Hooters...he cracks us up there!!!
June 2010: The week before school let out Rusty's two daughters joined us. We picked Makayla and Alana up on June 6th from the Burbank airport. That day is also special because that was Devyns 9th birthday. At the end of June we headed to Monterey for our 1st camping trip as a family of 8! We don't have a vehicle large enough yet to hold all of us at once so instead of taking 2 cars we let Devyn and Makayla ride in the fifth wheel. It is legal in California as long as there is a two-way radio communication available. That trip provided it's own unexpected memories. We had a blow out on the trailer. We FINALLY made it to our destination and we had to make one trip to the ER. Everyone is fine now, it was just scary at the moment. Other than that June wasn't terribly busy...it was pretty lazy...I guess it was the calm before the storm. Because I had NO clue what July was about to do to me...lol.
July 2010: We got back from our camping trip on July 1st and that's when it ALL began! July 3rd we spent time with the entire family (minus Bryan) at Wild Water and enjoyed the fireworks show once the park closed. The 4th was spend at the Karles...it tradition! On Monday the 5th--5 of the children started at summer fun. Its a program here in town and it's fun for them. Once that was over I had enough time to make dinner and throw the kids into the van as we headed off to VBS at our church. We didn't get back home until 9pm. I was an extremely busy, but very fun week for them. My girls are off with their dad this week. And that's the happenings around here.....
