Gymnastics and Worms

Yesterday I had quite an interesting afternoon. It didn't start out abnormal. I went and picked Devyn up from school the girls fought the entire way home, they had a snack and then it was time to get Jordyn ready for gymnastics class. Devyn and Jordyn decided to spend the hour between snack and gymnastics out in the backyard playing Frisbee (or so that was the impression they left with me). There was 20 minutes left until we needed to leave and we had hands to wash, teeth to brush, and clean shoes to put on. So when I went out in the backyard to get Jordyn she was playing in the MUD!!!! I told her that we needed to get ready for her class and she really didn't want to go....she was enjoying herself. Devyn even tried to convince Jordyn by telling her that if she didn't get ready to go that Mom was going to leave and go watch the other kids (like I have time for that). She made me laugh!!! I finally talked her into going....but we now only had 10 minutes and mud everywhere!! Devyn was really into the earthworms that she had dug up and even made them a "home" on the patio table! At school Devyn is learning to ask questions about EVERYTHING so she wanted to know what kind of worms they were, how far in the ground they lived, what do they eat (I told her little girls...she didn't believe me),and she wanted to know if the worms were carnivores or herbivores (how was I suppose to know?). Needless to say 1st grade is tough!!!! I hope I survive...I didn't 1st grade once and it was a LONG time ago.

I haven't forgot about you

It has been about 2 weeks since my last post. Between each of the kids getting sick and myself we were stuck in the house for more than 2 weeks. Although we were in the house I didn't even feel like turning the computer on. For 10 days I had no more that a 2 hour block of sleep...so if I had any "spare" time my first choice was to take a nap!
We are definitely on the upswing now!!! My camera has been MIA hence the reason there hasn't been any new pictures on the blog. Hopefully (with fingers crossed) I will have a chance tonight to post WITH pictures about Jordyn's gymnastics class....she is too cute!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Life is CRAZY.....all I have to say is that I'm going to start praying right now that EVERYONE is well next year on my birthday. Today is my 29th birthday and two of my three children have the flu. Last year I had it and ran 103 fever for 4 days. Devyn was set home from school on Wednesday with 102 fever and has been on the couch for 5 days. I went to a local casino on Friday for a birthday dinner and although I had a nice time when I picked Katelyn up I felt as though I could never leave the kids again. Katelyn screamed for an hour and Jordyn vomitted all night. So I will pray now that God would grant me a well family for my 30th birthday. I'm really not going to let it ruin my day. We have had a lazy morning and this afternoon I will go to my house and pack a few more things. Then tonight dad will make me dinner and I will have my traditional Marie Callendars pie for dessert. Maybe I'll get to rent a movie tonight too. I think next year I am going to escape....LOL.

Blood Results.....

I am still extremely frustrated with Katelyns' tummy issues. She had some bloodwork done on the 22nd and I was told that we would definately have the results by the following Monday. So I called the office and they tell me that a nurse would call me back...no call back. So I tried again Tuesday...still NO call back. Devyn had her 6 yr physical on Wednesday so I asked the Dr if they had Katelyn's results....NO FOOD ALLERGIES!! So now what?!?! Now she won't even eat her rice cereal. She vomits when it hits her tummy. So now I have to call the Dr again. I am so frustrated. I only slightly have an idea what my cousin goes through...it's tough. I am SO tired of the Doctors' office.

It looks like I will be started a Phlebotomy Technician Certificate program in the fall. It will be a bit hectic, but I am up for the challenge!! If I can work it out I will do Phlebotomy part-time, take an evening class or two (to complete prerequisite for a nursing program) and be able to for the most part be at home with the girls. I just keep praying that this is a good decision. I am actually excited at the opportunity.

Katelyn offically has her first tooth!!! It broke through the gum yesterday! Poor baby...you know that has to hurt. Well....that's it for now. I'll keep you posted!!
